A Tiny Beginning, A Brave Little Fighter – Pravyaa’s Story
Baby of Ankita Chauhan came into the world far earlier than expected, at just 25 weeks and 5 days. She was incredibly tiny, weighing only 720 grams and needed immediate support from the very first moments of life. Born at Motherhood Hospital, Indore, her arrival was both delicate and uncertain, as doctors quickly stepped in to help her breathe and stabilise.
Her parents, Ankita and Amit, suddenly found themselves in the NICU, watching over a baby so small yet fighting so hard. Under the care of Dr. Asha Bakshi and the NICU team, Pravyaa was given constant support. She spent her initial days on a ventilator and received essential treatment, including surfactant therapy, to help her lungs develop and function better. The journey was slow, with progress coming in small but meaningful steps.
Day by day, she began to respond. From being extremely fragile, she gradually grew stronger, learning to breathe with less support and tolerate feeds. Each little improvement brought comfort to her parents, who stayed hopeful through the long and uncertain days.
As Pravyaa continued to grow, she faced another challenge. She required eye procedures (ROP surgeries), with her left eye treated in November and her right eye more recently. With timely care and the guidance of specialists referred through Motherhood Hospital, one of our partnered hospitals, she received the treatment she needed.
Today, Pravyaa’s story feels very different from where it began. Now weighing 3.8 kg, she is doing well, stable, and growing like any other baby her age. From a tiny 720-gram newborn fighting for survival to a stronger, healthier infant, her journey reflects just how far she has come.
Pravyaa’s story is one of patience, care, and quiet strength, a reminder that even the smallest beginnings can grow into something truly hopeful.
