Vinayak Story

After Loss, A New Beginning

Baby of Shveta Soni was born earlier than expected, at 30 weeks of pregnancy, weighing just 1.26 kg. From the moment he arrived at Motherhood Hospital, Indore, it was clear that he would need extra care and support. His tiny body was not yet ready for the world, and the first few days were closely watched inside the NICU.

For Shveta and her husband Sidhdeshwar, this was not just another birth — it was hope after heartbreak. The couple, from a small town in Madhya Pradesh, had already faced the pain of losing two babies in the past. This time, every moment felt heavier, every update from the doctors more important. They held on quietly, hoping that things would be different.

Under the care of Dr. Asha Bakshi and the NICU team, the baby received the support he needed to breathe, feed, and slowly grow stronger. The journey was not easy, but it moved forward step by step. The parents stayed patient through the long days, learning to find comfort in small improvements.

As the days passed, the strain of managing the baby’s treatment began to weigh heavily on the family. It was during this time that Neonates Foundation of India (NFI) stepped in. With the support of donors, the family was able to continue their baby’s care without the constant worry of how they would manage the expenses.

Slowly, things began to change. The baby started responding well, gaining strength, and moving towards stability. What once felt uncertain began to feel possible.

Today, that tiny newborn is now lovingly called Vinayak. At around 6 kg, he is healthy, growing well, and doing just fine. For his parents, he is more than just their child; he is a new beginning, a quiet answer to years of loss, and a reason to believe again.

Vinayak’s story is a reminder that sometimes, all a family needs is a little support at the right time, and the chance to finally bring their baby home.
